Jasprit Bumrah-led India bags T20I series 2-0 against Ireland after 3rd T20I called off without a ball bowled

New Delhi: Good news for cricket lover as incessant downpour in Dublin called off Third T20I series that leads to India win against Ireland. The third and final T20I cricket match between India and Ireland was abandoned due to rain. With this, under the captaincy of Jasprit Bumrah, India won the 3-match series 2-0 with a single ball being bowled. The first match of the series was also affected by rain in which India won by 2 runs under Duckworth-Lewis. And in the second match, Team India won by 33 runs. Through this series, Jasprit Bumrah was successful in making a grand comeback after 11 months. The Indian team will next be seen in action against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 clash.

Even before the start of the third match, the rain had knocked on the ground, which continued for about 3 hours. After this the rain stopped but due to wet ground, there was continuous delay. Toss could not be done in the match due to rain. After several inspections, the umpires decided to call off the match three hours after the scheduled start time.

Bumrah’s return was successful
This series was good for two fast bowlers returning after injury, Bumrah and the famous Krishna. Both took four wickets in two matches. Both of them will now have a tough test in the One Day Asia Cup starting on 30 August.

Bumrah’s form and fitness is very important for India in view of the ICC ODI World Cup starting at home from October 5. The series, led by Bumrah, gave the young players an opportunity to prepare for the Asia Cup to be held in China next month where India will send a second-string team as the senior players are busy preparing for the World Cup.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who led the team in China, got a chance to play two consecutive matches after sitting out most of the time on the West Indies tour. He scored a half-century during India’s 33-run win on Sunday.

The series will also be remembered for the much-awaited debut of IPL sensation Rinku Singh, who made an impact in the only innings he got on the short tour.
