J&K: Policeman shoots self dead with his service rifle inside a police station

Jammu and Kashmir: On Sunday, an officials said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police constable allegedly shot himself dead inside a police station with his service rifle. The deceased has been identified as selection grade constable Iqbal Hussain, a resident of Poonch.

Jammu and Kashmir: On Sunday, an officials said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police constable allegedly shot himself dead inside a police station with his service rifle. The deceased has been identified as selection grade constable Iqbal Hussain, a resident of Poonch.

They said that he was found dead with a bullet injury at police station Nowabad in the city late Saturday night. Preliminary investigations suggest that he used his service weapon to carry out the act, although the exact reason behind his decision remains unknown at this time.

Earlier, 31-year-old, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan allegedly shot himself in Palamu district of Jharkhand. The deceased has been identified as Pranjal Nath. He was posted at the headquarters of 112 battalion of CRPF located near Chiyanki village in the district.

According to the officials, in a similar incident, an Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at an army camp in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
