Under the strategic direction of ADG Zone Bhanu Bhaskar, Kaushambi police, closely followed by Hamirpur, takes the lead in ensuring swift and strict punishment for criminals. ‘Operation Conviction,’ initiated in July 2023, is guided by the meticulous identification and rigorous pursuit of heinous crimes across the seven districts of the Prayagraj zone—Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot, Banda, and Mahoba. It’s noteworthy that Prayagraj district was formerly part of the Prayagraj zone before transitioning into a police commissionerate on November 29, 2022.
ADG Zone Bhanu Bhaskar underscores the comprehensive approach of ‘Operation Conviction,’ emphasizing the identification and rigorous pursuit of heinous crimes in courts. The commitment to ensuring strict punishment is fortified by the presentation of strong evidence and the protection of witnesses. The progress in identified cases is vigilantly monitored on a regular basis.
“Over the past five months, the police have steadfastly addressed 67 sensitive cases, effectively resolving law and order issues and securing life imprisonment for 146 accused individuals,” stated ADG Zone Bhanu Bhaskar.
Illustrating a notable success in Chitrakoot, the police swiftly pursued a case under the POCSO Act, securing a life term for the accused who raped an 11-year-old girl. Remarkably, the trial was completed within three months of registering the case.
Chitrakoot police further showcased their efficiency by ensuring a life term for a man who raped his own minor daughter, with the court pronouncing the sentence within 50 days of registering the FIR.
Fatehpur police achieved a significant milestone by securing a life sentence for a man who raped and killed a seven-month-old infant in 2021.
Kaushambi police, demonstrating unwavering commitment, ensured a life term for three individuals accused of killing a two-year-old boy in 2021. This reinforces Kaushambi’s leadership in maintaining law and order while upholding justice within the Prayagraj zone.
