Land For Jobs Scam: CBI reaches Lalu Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti’s house for questioning

New Delhi: The CBI team reached RJD MP Misa Bharti’s house on Tuesday morning. According to the information that has come out, the CBI team has arrived for questioning Lalu Yadav in the ‘land for job’ scam. Lalu Yadav is taking health benefits at his daughter Misa Bharti’s house in Delhi after returning from Singapore for treatment. Earlier, the CBI team reached Rabri Devi’s Patna residence on Monday to question her.

Yesterday, the CBI also issued a notice to Rabri Devi’s husband and former railway minister Lalu Yadav amid questioning. The CBI said yesterday that a notice was issued to Rabri Devi after which she said to be available on Monday and a team of the investigating agency went to her residence to question her.

In fact, the CBI has already filed a charge sheet in the land for job case. The special court in Delhi has also issued summons to other accused including Lalu Prasad and his family members to appear in the court on March 15.

According to officials, the probe agency has kept the probe into the alleged scam open and Lalu Prasad’s family members are being questioned as part of further probe into the matter. The case pertains to Lalu Prasad’s alleged ‘Group-D’ job in the Railways in lieu of gift of land or sale of land to his family when he was Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009.

It is alleged in the registered FIR that some persons were appointed on Group-D posts during 2004-2009 in various zones of the Railways located in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hajipur and in return they or their family members The members gave their land in the name of Lalu Prasad and a company named AK Infosystems Private Limited. Later the ownership of this company was taken over by the family members of Lalu Prasad.

It has also been alleged that Lalu Prasad’s family members in Patna took away 1,05,292 square feet of land from people through five sale deals, two gift deals. For this the vendors were asked to pay in cash.

The cost of this land is Rs 4.32 crore as per the current ‘circle rate’, but this land was sold to Lalu Prasad’s family for much less than this. It is also alleged that the services of the alleged beneficiaries were regularized by bypassing the guidelines and necessary procedures issued by the Railway Authority for appointments.
