New Delhi: On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was sent to judicial custody till April 15 in the liquor policy scam case. He was produced before a Delhi court after his Enforcement Directorate custodial remand ended in the Excise policy-linked money laundering case.

He was produced before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja in a jam-packed courtroom. The granted probe agency’s demand for judicial custody of Kejriwal. The ED alleged that Kejriwal is answering every question by saying ‘I don’t know’.

AAP Ministers Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj and Mr. Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal were present in court. The federal probe agency said it had sought the details regarding the appointments made with the chief minister in the online portal in his office.

The ED had arrested Mr. Kejriwal on March 21 in connection with the case. It said the during the interrogation, summonses were issued to senior excise officials in Punjab who were “involved in the arm-twisting of certain (liquor) wholesalers of Delhi.

The agency said that when the bribe demand was not met, these officials either closed their factories or did not allow wholesalers to send their goods to Punjab. The petition said that the concerned officials sought time on the summons citing the liquor tragedy in Sangrur.
