Lok Sabha Election: PM Modi and Ajay Rai Set to File Nominations for VVIP Varanasi Seat in Seventh Phase

In the Lok Sabha Election 2024, the nomination process for the seventh phase in Uttar Pradesh will commence on May 7. There won't be any nominations on May 11 and 12 due to holidays. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress State President Ajay Rai, and Athar Jamal Lari from BSP will file nominations for this seat.

In the Lok Sabha Election 2024, the nomination process for the seventh phase in Uttar Pradesh will commence on May 7. There won’t be any nominations on May 11 and 12 due to holidays. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress State President Ajay Rai, and Athar Jamal Lari from BSP will file nominations for this seat.

PM Modi and Ajay Rai Set to File Nominations for VVIP Varanasi Seat

The nominations for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections will start from Tuesday, May 7, and will be open from 11 am to 3 pm. Nominations won’t be accepted on May 11 (second Saturday) and May 12 (Sunday). District Election Officer S Rajalingam held a meeting related to nominations on Sunday and provided necessary instructions to the officers.

Nominations will be accepted from 11 am to 3 pm. The entry of vehicles of candidates and their supporters will be restricted within a 100-meter radius from the Collectorate. Prior permission will be required for any meeting or procession on the nomination day. The District Election Officer mentioned that only four people can accompany the candidate into the nomination room.

Candidates are required to declare their educational qualifications, income and expenditure, movable and immovable property, spouse, children, debts, weapons, ongoing criminal cases, etc. Details about the current status of any ongoing cases, along with the case number, must be provided. Additionally, the prescribed fee, along with other documents including passport photos, Aadhar card, PAN card, original residence, caste certificate, and the prescribed security amount, must be deposited. Each candidate must submit an affidavit certified at the notary level.

Election Schedule:

Nominations from May 7 to May 14.
Enrollment from 11 am to 3 pm.
No nominations on May 11 and May 12 due to holidays.
Scrutiny of nomination papers on May 15.
Withdrawal of nominations until May 17.
Voting on June 1 from 7 am to 6 pm.
Vote counting on June 4.

Prime Minister and Congress State President to File Nominations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress State President Ajay Rai will file nominations for the significant Varanasi seat. Athar Jamal Lari is contesting from BSP. Additionally, Rajasthan’s comedian Shyam Rangeela will also file nominations on May 10.
