New Delhi: Lokendra Singh Kalvi, founder of Sri Rajput Karni Sena and former Rajasthan minister, died at 80 in MMS Hospital in Rajasthan’s Jaipur. He died late Monday night in the hospital. Kalvi’s death is said to be due to heart attack (cardiac arrest). By the way, he was undergoing treatment for a brain stroke in the hospital since June 2022. Kalvi’s last rites will be performed today (Tuesday, March 14) at 2:15 pm at his native Kalvi village in Nagaur district.
Let us tell you that Lokendra Singh Kalvi’s father Kalyan Singh Kalvi, a resident of Kalvi village of Nagaur district of Rajasthan, was also a minister in Rajasthan and the Central Government. Kalvi, who was active in the Sati movement, believed that he was a politician later, a Rajput first. More or less in the same way, Lokendra Singh Kalvi also remained active. Kalvi had good relations with many big people in BJP, Congress and Janata Dal.
Lokendra Singh Kalvi laid the foundation of Karni Sena in the year 2006 in the name of Jagatjanani Karni Mata. In 2008, the film Jodhaa-Akbar could not be released in Rajasthan due to protests by the Karni Sena. Not only this, Karni Sena also opposed Salman Khan’s film ‘Veer’ in 2009. The army claimed that Rajputs have been wrongly presented through the film.
Even the Karni Sena had opposed the historical TV serials being aired on TV. He also strongly opposed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Padmavat’ in the year 2018.
