Lucknow Registers 36 New Dengue Cases

Lucknow saw a surge in dengue cases with 36 new positive cases reported on Sunday, marking the highest single-day increase this year. This upward trend comes after the dengue count had been steadily rising in the state capital over the past three days, increasing from 34 cases on Friday to 35 cases on Saturday.

On Sunday, of the total 36 new cases, four cases each were recorded in Chinhut and Aliganj, while five cases were reported from Indira Nagar. Additionally, there were three cases each in Sarojininagar and Chander Nagar.

A total of 33 new dengue cases were reported earlier in the city, with five patients each from Chandernagar and Chinhat, four each from Sarojininagar, NK Road, Indiranagar, and Aliganj, and three from Silver Jubilee. Furthermore, two cases each were reported from Bakshi Ka Talab and Turiyaganj. The Chief Medical Officer’s spokesperson, Yogesh Raghuvanshi, noted that extensive fogging and anti-larva exercises were carried out in response to the rising dengue cases.

Dr. Amita Shukla, a senior gynecologist at SC Trivedi Memorial Trust Hospital, highlighted that the city is currently experiencing a dengue peak. She advised individuals vulnerable to infections, such as pregnant women, the elderly, and children, to use mosquito nets during sleep to avoid mosquito bites.

The surge in dengue cases underscores the importance of public health measures and awareness campaigns to combat the spread of the disease.
