Bhopal: In a decisive step towards strict adherence to food safety standards, the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has announced a ban on the sale of meat and eggs in open areas. This decision was announced by recently appointed Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in his initial cabinet meeting.

The announcement was made after Yadav’s swearing-in ceremony at the Motilal Nehru Stadium in Bhopal, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were among the high-ranking attendees. Yadav, known for his close association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stressed that implementing the ban would involve extensive public awareness efforts.

Beyond the ban, the Madhya Pradesh government announced plans to facilitate pilgrimages to the holy city of Ayodhya and increase remuneration for tendu leaf pluckers. The state cabinet also decided to implement Cyber Tehsil Scheme in all 55 districts with the aim of streamlining the process of property ownership transfer.

From 15th to 31st December, a campaign will be run by various departments to ban the open sale of meat and fish. This decision is in line with existing food safety regulations and aims to maintain public health standards. The campaign will aim to educate the public about the risks associated with consuming food from unregulated open shops and promote safe food practices.
