Maharashtra: Fire breaks out in 5 coaches of passenger train, all passengers safe

Mumbai: A fire broke out in five coaches of an 8-coach DEMU train between Ahmednagar and Narayanpur stations in Maharashtra on Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. After which there was chaos. However, there are no reports of any injuries at the moment. All passengers are said to be safe.

Mumbai: A fire broke out in five coaches of an 8-coach DEMU train between Ahmednagar and Narayanpur stations in Maharashtra on Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. After which there was chaos. However, there are no reports of any injuries at the moment. All passengers are said to be safe.

CPRO Central Railway said, “Five coaches of an 8-coach demo train caught fire between Ahmednagar and Narayanpur stations at 3 pm. There are no reports of any injuries or death as all the passengers got off the train after the fire broke out. No one is trapped inside the burning boxes. Firefighters have been called by the railway authorities.”

According to information received from railway sources, the fire brigade has brought the fire under control. The first coach of the train caught fire, after which the fire engulfed the other three coaches as well. In this incident, the railway has suffered heavy losses. This incident is from Ahmednagar’s Walunj, where the train caught fire around 3:24 a.m. Police and Railway officials are present at the spot. The investigation is ongoing.
