Imphal: CBI has made a big revelation in the case of two women of Kuki-Zomi community being paraded naked and sexually assaulted by a mob in Churachandpur district of Manipur. According to the report of sources, the CBI has told the court in the charge sheet that before the nude parade and sexual assault, both the women had managed to board the police gypsy but the driver of the gypsy told them that he did not have the keys of the car.
According to the charge sheet filed by the CBI, both the women had requested the police to take them to a safe place in the vehicle. Two other male victims were also sitting in the police gypsy. The charge sheet states that all the policemen left the spot except the gypsy. After this, a large crowd reached there and took the women out of the gypsy. The women were paraded naked by the mob and sexually assaulted.
Investigation revealed that out of fear the complainant three victims, along with their daughter and a granddaughter, fled into the forest. The crowd noticed the hiding place of the members of a family and as soon as they saw them they started shouting ‘People are hiding here’. A person in the crowd ran towards them with a big ax in his hand and threatened them, saying, ‘The way you people treated us (Meitei people) in Churachandpur, we will also do the same to you. The mob forcefully brought all the family members to the main road and separated them.
The CBI charge sheet said some people in the crowd asked the victims to go to a police gypsy parked on the roadside of a nearby village. As the police approached the gypsy, some people in the crowd again separated the victims from their families. Meanwhile, two women managed to sit in the police gypsy. Two policemen including the driver were with him inside the police gypsy and three to four policemen were outside.
One victim requested the policemen to move the vehicle. The driver of the police gypsy replied, ‘There is no key’. They repeatedly appealed to the policemen to help them and save a person who was being attacked by the mob but ‘the police did not help them’.
CBI investigation revealed that the violent incident took place on May 3 in Churachandpur. A charge sheet was filed against six people and a juvenile before a special court in Guwahati in October. Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh said that departmental action has already been taken against the concerned police personnel.

In the viral video, the age of one woman was around 20 years and the other was around 40 years. In the video, some people can be seen dragging two women and sexually assaulting them.
