Gujarat: In an unfortunate incident, a massive fire engulfs the engine of Dahod Anand 9350 MEMU train at Jekot railway station on Friday near Dahod, Gujarat. The blaze that broke out in the engine of the train spread to two bogies. During this, there was shouting and stampede at the spot. There is no news of any casualty in the accident. Horrific visuals of the fire surfaced on social media.

Fortunately, due to the fire in the last compartment, the remaining compartments were saved and all the passengers on board the train are safe. The fire brigade has reached the spot and currently the fire has been brought under control. Please note that this MEMU train was going from Dahod towards Godhra.

According to reports, fire incident occurred on the Dahod-Anand MEMU train no. 9350 as the fire quickly spread to connecting coaches, causing panic and concern among passengers. However, fire officials brought the fire under control, and no casualties were reported. It was told that all the passengers are safe.

The train had departed from Dahod at about 11:38 am and had reached Jekot, when the fire broke out. Passengers were instructed to deboard the train at Jekot railway station.

Scenes from the fire show firefighters working to bring the blaze under control. According to visuals, the train engine was burnt.

According to reports, on seeing, parts of the AC coach adjacent to the engine were leaking, about which higher officials were informed. As soon as the Revel Division officials received the information, they immediately reached the incident site. Informed Dahod fire department and called them. After much effort the fire was brought under control.

Like every Friday, MEMU train number 09350 reached Jekot, 10 km from Dahod, loaded with passengers at 11.38 am. When the train was unloading passengers at Jekot railway station, suddenly a stampede broke out in the rear compartment adjacent to the engine of the MEMU train. Police probe into the matter is underway.
