Hyderabad: Telangana Medical Student Tries To Kill Herself: A surprising case has come to light from Telangana, where a girl student tried to commit suicide after getting upset with her senior. According to information received from the police, a first-year student of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) in Telangana’s Warangal district attempted suicide at a government hospital on Wednesday (February 22) after being harassed by her senior.
Police said that the staff and doctors on duty in the hospital found the student unconscious, after which they treated her. Police said that after his condition became critical, he has been shifted to a government hospital in Hyderabad. However, his condition is said to be improving now. Warangal Police Commissioner AV Ranganath said that the girl’s father has lodged a complaint accusing the senior college student of harassing his daughter and demanded a thorough probe into the matter.
In the complaint, the student’s father said that the woman’s senior (second year) student and a doctor in the anesthesia department in the medical college were humiliating and harassing her. In the complaint, he further said that they had also posted comments against the woman in an online group of an instant messaging platform.
The student’s father said that due to not tolerating the torture, his daughter decided to attempt suicide. Apart from this, the medical college officials said that they have formed a committee to investigate the matter.
The senior police officer said, “We are treating it as an attempt to suicide and the exact reason will be known on the basis of further investigation.” He said that once the girl student gets well, the police will get more information. Based on which further planning and investigation will be done.
