Meerut Lok Sabha Election 2024: BJP’s Arun Govil to Face Off Against Samajwadi Party’s Sunita Verma

In the upcoming Meerut Lok Sabha election 2024, the stage is set for a significant electoral showdown between Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Arun Govil and Samajwadi Party’s (SP) Sunita Verma.

Scheduled for the second phase on April 26, polling in Meerut will witness a heated contest among the key contenders, including Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) Devvrit Tyagi.

The Lok Sabha elections 2024 are scheduled across seven phases, with the final results slated for declaration on June 4.

Samajwadi Party changed its candidate a couple of times in Meerut. First, they had Bhanu Pratap Singh, then Atul Pradhan, and now Sunita Verma will be their candidate.

Arun Govil, known for playing Lord Ram in the TV show Ramayan, will represent BJP in his hometown Meerut. He is replacing Rajendra Agarwal, who won the election three times before.

Govil was born in Meerut and spent his early years there. He completed his education from Meerut before moving to Mumbai.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rajendra Agarwal secured victory for BJP against BSP’s Haji Yaqoob Qureshi, while in 2014, he emerged victorious against BSP’s Mohammad Shahid Akhlak.

With the election heating up, Meerut is all set for an interesting showdown between the candidates from BJP and Samajwadi Party.
