Mercury rises in Delhi-NCR, heat outbreak in these 4 states, IMD orange alert in Bengal

New Delhi: Weather in Delhi-NCR is expected to be generally clear today. Along with this, the mercury in Delhi is likely to rise continuously. The maximum temperature of Delhi is likely to increase to 39 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature can be 19 degrees Celsius.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), heat is increasing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Bihar. Prayagraj in UP recorded the state’s highest maximum temperature of 41.2 degrees Celsius. According to IMD, heat wave has started in many states of the country.

According to IMD, heat wave conditions will prevail in different parts of Gangetic West Bengal from April 13 to April 17. While a heat wave is expected to occur in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha from April 13 to 15 and Bihar from April 15 to 17. IMD has also issued an Orange Alert due to heat wave in Bengal. According to the IMD, the maximum temperature has reached between 40-42 degrees Celsius in some parts of Central and North Peninsular India.

During the next 4-5 days, the maximum temperature is likely to be 3-5 degrees Celsius above normal over Northeast India, Sikkim, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe and Madhya Pradesh. In the plains of the country, Rewa (Eastern Madhya Pradesh) recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 17.6 degrees Celsius. While Chandrapur (Vidarbha) recorded the maximum maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius.

According to IMD, during the next 5 days, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Rainfall is likely at many places in Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada today. The IMD has predicted rain with thunder and lightning during April 15 to 17 in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Light rain may occur at isolated places in West Rajasthan on April 16 and Punjab on April 17.
