Modi in poll-bound MP, Rajasthan on Oct 2 to launch slew of projects worth crores

PM Modi is expected to reach Gwalior in MP around 10:45 am, hold two meetings and lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 19,260 crore. At 3:30 pm Modi will reach Chittorgarh in Rajasthan to launch development projects worth Rs 7,000 crore.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on Monday to launch slew of multiple development projects worth crores in both the poll-bound states today.

PM Modi is expected to reach Gwalior in MP around 10:45 am, hold two meetings and lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 19,260 crore. At 3:30 pm Modi will reach Chittorgarh in Rajasthan to launch development projects worth Rs 7,000 crore.

Modi’s rallies are part of a larger election campaign that has been underway since Saturday in four poll-bound states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Chhattisgarh. From September 30 to October 6, PM Modi will hold eight rallies in six days, and is scheduled to launch various projects and several public welfare schemes.

Later in the day, PM Modi will also visit Gwalior where he will lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation several development initiatives worth about Rs 19,260 crore. He will inaugurate the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway, which has been developed at a cost of about Rs 11,895 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone for five different road projects worth over Rs 1,880 crore, the statement said.

According to a press release, PM Modi during his visit to Chittorgarh will start off the Mehsana-Bathinda-Gurdaspur gas pipeline, built at a cost of Rs 4,500 crore in yet another step to promote a gas-based economy.

He will also inaugurate Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (HPCL) LPG plant in Abu Road. This plant will bottle and distribute 86 lakh cylinders per annum, resulting in net reduction in running trucks carrying the cylinders by around 0.75 million kilometres annually. This will help to cut down about 0.5 million tons of CO2 emission per annum, it said.

Among other projects, the PM will inaugurate the four-lane road on Darah-Jhalawar-Tindhar section of NH-12 (new NH-52), built at a cost of over Rs 1,480 crore. Foundation stone will be laid for construction and widening of railway over bridge from two lanes to four in Sawai Madhopur.

He will also lay the foundation stone for five different road projects worth over Rs 1,880 crore. He will inaugurate the housewarming ceremony of more than 2.2 lakh houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin in line with his vision of ensuring a permanent house for every family. He will also inaugurate houses constructed at a cost of about Rs 140 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban.
