Mumbai: On Tuesday, an official said that a man was arrested for allegedly strangling his partner to killed after a heated argument at a lodge in Turbhe area of Navi Mumbai. The man was 24-year-old. According to the information, The accused was identified as Soheb Kalam Sheikh.

Mumbai: On Tuesday, an official said that a man was arrested for allegedly strangling his partner to killed after a heated argument at a lodge in Turbhe area of Navi Mumbai. The man was 24-year-old.

According to the information, The accused was identified as Soheb Kalam Sheikh. He was a resides in Saki Naka in Mumbai. An official said that the woman’s body was found at a lodge in the Turbhe area on January 9.

Giving information about this incident, police said that the man had threatened the woman to circulate her private photos to her relatives and also did it to her mother and sister.

A senior police officer said,”In the preliminary investigation, the police found that the victim and the accused were in a relationship. Sheikh wanted to marry her and put pressure on her. He threatened the woman that he would circulate her private photos to her relatives. Recently, he even sent some photos to her mother and sister, and blackmailed her.”

The police said that Sheikh and the woman went to a lodge where they indulged in a heated argument on January 8. In a fit of rage, he strangled her to death and fled from the spot. As soon as Navi Mumbai Police got information about the dead body in the lodge, it started investigation.

The police arrested Sheikh and booked him under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on intelligence. The police produced him in the local court, from where he was sent to police custody for a week.
