Mumbai: 37-year-old police constable dies after manja slits throat on Western Express Highway

Mumbai: A 37-year-old police constable lost his life after getting a manjha string stuck around his neck in Mumbai on Sunday night. The police constable identified as Sameer Jadhav.

Mumbai: A 37-year-old police constable lost his life after getting a manjha string stuck around his neck in Mumbai on Sunday night. The police constable identified as Sameer Jadhav.

According to the Police information, the constable was heading home after his duty. They said that the incident happened when deceased Sameer Suresh Jadhav was on Vakola bridge on the Western Express Highway.

Jadhav, who worked at Dindoshi police station, was going to his home in Worli. He was taken to nearby Sion Hospital, but doctors declared him dead. After receiving information about this incident Kherwadi police officials arrived at the spot as part of the probe, while his kin have been informed of the incident.

Giving details about this incident, an official said, “Jadhav is attached to Dindoshi police station in Goregaon and was going back to his home in Worli on his motorcycle. After his throat got slit, he was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.” They added that taking this incident seriously, a case was registered in the Kherwadi Police Station while further investigation.
