Mumbai: On Monday afternoon, a coach of a local train on the Harbour Line derailed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). According to the information, no passengers were injured in this incident.
According to a spokesperson of Central Railway, the incident happened at 11:35 am, with one trolley of the Panvel-CSMT train derailing at CSMT’s platform number 2.
After this incident, the disruption affected Harbour line services and the CSMT-bound trains were terminated at Masjid station. Meanwhile, Harbour line services would operate only between Wadala and Masjid stations until restoration work is completed at CSMT.
Official said that the restoration work is underway and trains on the Main Line will remain unaffected. The disruption led to stranded passengers resorting to desperate measures, with many forced to jump onto the tracks to reach the nearest station and seek alternative road transport options.
