New Delhi: Seven people had a narrow escape when a moving car caught fire in Thane city of Maharashtra, an official said on Monday. The incident took place on Thane's Mumbra Bypass Road on Sunday.

New Delhi: Seven people had a narrow escape when a moving car caught fire in Thane city of Maharashtra, an official said on Monday. The incident took place on Thane Mumbra Bypass Road on Sunday.

According to the information, Seven people were traveling in the car when suddenly the car caught fire and within no time the fire engulfed the car. but they were evacuated safely, Thane Municipal Corporation official said. The car was going from Panvel towards Thane.

As soon as information about the incident was received, fire brigade vehicles of Thane Municipal Corporation reached the spot. The fire brigade personnel brought the fire under control after a lot of effort.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Thane Municipal Corporation fire department officials said that all the 7 people present in the car have been evacuated safely.

People in the car said that suddenly smoke started coming from the car. After this he stopped the car and got out. After this the fire broke out.
