Mumbai: Western railway suburban local train uncouples in Mumbai, no casualties reported

Mumbai: On Sunday, a Western Railway official said that a suburban train in Mumbai uncoupled in which three coaches from the rear got separated from the rest of the train. According to information, no passenger was hurt in the incident.

Mumbai: On Sunday, a Western Railway official said that a suburban train in Mumbai uncoupled in which three coaches from the rear got separated from the rest of the train. According to information, no passenger was hurt in the incident.

Western Railway’s chief public relations officer Sumit Thakur said that a Borivali-bound slow train left from Churchgate station and uncoupled at Marine Lines around 11.02 am. He further said that three coaches from the rear end got separated from the rest of the train.

According to a statement from the Western Railway, the train had departed for Borivali from Churchgate at 10.57 am. It also said The passengers were deboarded and the train was taken to a car shed.

The Western Railway added after the incident, slow trains for Dahanu were diverted and run on the fast track. A railway motorman said that the incident might have occurred due to some problem in the coupler connecting the coaches.
