Mumbai’s 26/11 terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana to be brought to India, US court approves

An accused in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks will soon be brought to India from the US. A US court has approved the extradition of 26/11 Mumbai attack accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana to India. This is a big victory for India. Tahawwur Rana, 62, is a Canadian businessman of Pakistani origin. Indian officials had talked about Tahawwur Rana’s involvement in the Mumbai terror attack. Through these allegations there was a demand that it should be sent to India. Indian authorities had demanded an inquiry from Rana into the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Officials said that Rana was also involved in that attack. NIA is probing this matter.

US court ordered 48 pages

The case was heard in the US District Court Central District of California. California District Court Judge Jacqueline Chooljian said, “The court has reviewed and considered all documents supporting and opposing the request.” The 48-page order has been issued on Wednesday. The court accepted that Rana’s extradition is justified. From the reasons presented by India, it seems that there is a need to interrogate Rana.

Rana is David Coleman Headley’s accomplice

When the case was being heard in court, the lawyers of the Joe Biden government argued that Tahawwur Rana knew that his childhood friend, Pakistani-American David Coleman Headley, was a member of the terrorist organization Lashkar. Even after this he stayed with Headley. Rana made many efforts to hide his activities. Apart from this, the terrorist organization also supports Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Let us tell you that a total of 166 people including six Americans were killed in the Mumbai terror attacks. These attacks were carried out by 10 Pakistani terrorists. These attacks continued for more than 60 hours at prestigious and important places in Mumbai. There is an extradition treaty between India and America. The judge ruled that Rana’s extradition to India was entirely within the jurisdiction of the treaty.
