Pakistan: 3 soldiers, one terrorist killed in terror attack in Balochistan

Pakistan: A militant and three soldiers were killed in a heavy exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in Zargun area of ​​Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Saturday.

The media wing of the Pakistan Army said the encounter took place when the security forces responded to an attack on a check post.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that a group of terrorists attacked a post on Saturday morning. After this the security forces retaliated and then firing started from both the sides.

According to media reports, the security forces immediately retaliated and forced the terrorists to retreat. The ISPR said a sanitation and clearance operation had been launched in the mountains of Zarghoon.

The ISPR statement said possible hideouts of the terrorists who fled in the nearby mountains after the encounter have been identified and an operation to eliminate them has been launched. ISPR Director General Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry recently said that at least 293 people were killed and 521 were injured in 436 terrorist attacks over the past year.

He had also said that overall 137 security personnel were killed and 117 injured in anti-terror operations in the ongoing year. Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has condemned this terrorist incident.
