Please inform that Draupadi Murmu was sworn in as the 15th President of India on 25 July 2022. She is the first tribal President of the country and second woman after Pratibha Patil to be appointed to the top post.

Murmu was born on June 20, 1958 in a Santhali tribal family in Uparbeda village of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha. Earlier, Draupadi Murmu served as the Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021. He has also served as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2009. She has also been the Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Government of Odisha from 2000 to 2004.
