In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate India Energy Week 2024 in Goa today. The event will witness the inauguration of the ONGC Sea Survival Centre at Betul village in South Goa, the dedication of the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), and the laying of foundation stones for projects exceeding ₹1,330 crore.

In a momentous series of events, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate India Energy Week 2024 in Goa today. The day’s agenda includes the unveiling of the ONGC Sea Survival Centre at Betul village in South Goa, reinforcing the government’s commitment to achieving self-reliance in energy.

As part of this extensive program, PM Modi will also dedicate the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) to the nation and lay foundation stones for various projects amounting to over ₹1,330 crore. Additionally, he will address the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 program, emphasizing the vision for a developed India and Goa.

India Energy Week 2024, scheduled from February 6 to 9, is positioned as the country’s largest and only comprehensive energy exhibition and conference. PM Modi will engage in a roundtable with global oil & gas CEOs and experts, underscoring the government’s proactive role in shaping the energy landscape and fostering collaboration.

Encouraging and integrating startups into the energy value chain is a focal point of India Energy Week 2024. The event is anticipated to draw participation from 17 energy ministers globally, with over 35,000 attendees and 900 exhibitors. Dedicated country pavilions from Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, the UK, and the US, along with a Make in India pavilion, will showcase innovations in the energy sector.

Simultaneously, PM Modi will dedicate the newly constructed NIT Goa campus, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and the National Institute of Watersports campus, offering tailor-made courses to promote watersports and water rescue activities.

Further, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa, featuring scientific waste treatment and a 500 KW solar power plant. Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for a Passenger Ropeway connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, and a 100 MLD water treatment plant in South Goa.

The day’s events also encompass the distribution of appointment orders to 1,930 new government recruits and the handover of sanction letters to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes under Rozgar Mela. This multi-faceted approach exemplifies a comprehensive vision for development and sustainability in Goa, with a strong emphasis on energy, education, and infrastructure.
