PM Modi Launches Lok Sabha Campaign with Mega Rally in Meerut, UP | NDA Allies to Join Stage

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is beginning his campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh with a large rally in Meerut. It’s a strong showing as his allies from the NDA in Uttar Pradesh will stand with him on stage. At the same time, the Opposition is holding their own rally in Delhi.

PM Modi Launches Lok Sabha Campaign with Mega Rally in Meerut

This rally in Meerut is significant because it’s where PM Modi started his campaign in the 2019 elections. The BJP has chosen Arun Govil, known for playing Lord Ram in the TV show ‘Ramayan’, as their candidate. Notably, all allies from the Uttar Pradesh NDA, like Anupriya Patel from Apna Dal S, Jayant Chaudhary from RLD, Om Prakash Rajbhar from SBSP, and Sanjay Nishad from Nishad Party, will share the stage with him.

This is the first time Jayant Chaudhary will appear with PM Modi since joining the NDA in February. Meanwhile, the Opposition’s rally in Delhi aims to show unity ahead of the elections, especially after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest.

PM Modi’s choice to start his campaign from Arun Govil’s constituency shows how much respect Govil has in the region. Senior BJP leader Govind Narayan Shukla believes this rally is crucial for western Uttar Pradesh and is confident they’ll win all 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

The rally will focus on honoring former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh with the Bharat Ratna, issues faced by sugarcane growers and farmers, and the development of Western Uttar Pradesh. Chaudhary Charan Singh was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, which was received by his grandson Jayant Chaudhary in Delhi.

The Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will happen across seven phases. Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, and Kairana constituencies will vote first on April 19, followed by Meerut and Baghpat on April 26.
