In Rajasthan, Modi will address a public meeting in Kotputli at 1:50 pm to support Rao Rajendra Singh, the BJP candidate for the Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha seat. This marks Modi’s first event in Rajasthan since the election announcement. Jaipur Rural is one of the 12 constituencies in Rajasthan going to polls in the first phase on April 19.
Afterward, Modi will head to Uttarakhand for a rally in Rudrapur within the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency. Ajay Bhatt, the Union Minister of State for defence and tourism, is contesting from this seat, which he won in 2019 by defeating former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
Both Rajasthan and Uttarakhand were swept by the BJP in the previous elections, winning all seats. Modi’s speeches in these states will be closely watched for their significance. The themes he emphasizes could range from development, welfare schemes, to Hindutva, reflecting the party’s priorities.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Karnataka for a meeting with senior leaders of the Janata Dal (Secular), the BJP’s alliance partner. This meeting aims to address any remaining issues between the two parties before the polls.
Shah will kick off the day with a joint breakfast meeting, discussing feedback and election processes. The goal is to secure victory in all 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Later, Shah will hold a roadshow in Channapatna under the Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha constituency, where C N Manjunath, Kumaraswamy’s brother-in-law, is contesting on a BJP ticket.
