In a momentous development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the grand consecration event of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya from the distinguished ‘Singh Dwar,’ the main entrance to the temple, as per sources on Thursday. The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the temple, open to visitors during the consecration event on January 22, next year.

Sources indicate that a substantial number of devotees are expected to converge on the temple town for the momentous occasion on January 22.

Simultaneously, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust responsible for the construction and management of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, is slated to convene a meeting today. The discussions are anticipated to revolve around the installation of the idol of Lord Ram within the sanctum sanctorum during the grand opening on January 22. Detailed preparations for the consecration ceremony will also be addressed during the meeting, with a subsequent meeting to finalize the selection of the idol of Ram Lalla.

Earlier today, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya participated in a cleanliness campaign in Ayodhya as part of the preparations for the grand event. Emphasizing the campaign’s significance, he stated, “With the resolve, ‘Swachh Rahe Shri Ram Ka Dham’ (Lord Ram’s place should be cleaned), the cleanliness campaign is going on in Ayodhya, and today we have launched the cleanliness campaign. Everyone together will keep Ayodhya clean.”

On Wednesday, trust secretary Champat Rai revealed that a 51-inch tall idol of Lord Ram, portraying a five-year-old Ram Lalla, would be chosen from three designs. The selection criteria would prioritize divineness and a child-like appearance.

Providing insights into the temple’s construction, Rai shared that a substantial amount of stone, approximately 21-22 lakh cubic feet, has been utilized for the structure. He highlighted the engineering feat of a 56-layered artificial rock foundation and the use of granite blocks, pink-colored sandstone from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, and pure white Makrana marble for the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the temple city on Saturday to inaugurate the Ayodhya airport and the railway station, both undergoing significant revamping, particularly in alignment with the temple’s architectural model.
