Pro-Khalistan slogans written on walls of Bathinda mini secretariat in high-security zone

The news of pro-Khalistan slogans written on the walls of Bathinda's Mini Secretariat complex has come to light. This area is a high security area. The Secretariat is just 50 yards from the residence of the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and a short distance from the SSP office. Presently Punjab Police is investigating the case.

Bhatinda/Punjab: Pro-Khalistan graffiti were found written on the walls of the Mini Secretariat complex in Bathinda. This area is a high security area. The secretariat is just 50 yards away from the residence of the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and a short distance from the SSP office. Presently Punjab Police is investigating the case.

The police are checking all the CCTV cameras in the vicinity to nab the culprits. So far, no organization has taken responsibility for this action. Pro-Khalistan slogans were written on public walls and pillars in several states like Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi since last year. Last year, pro-Khalistan slogans were seen written on the walls of five metro stations in Delhi.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter and are checking all the nearby CCTVs to nab the perpetrators. No outfit has claimed responsibility for the act so far.

Slogans of ‘Delhi Banegi Khalistan’ and ‘Khalistan Referendum Zindabad’ were found written on the walls of Punjabi Bagh, Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar, Udyog Nagar, Maharaja Surajmal Stadium and Nangloi Metro stations.

Two members of ‘Sikhs for Justice’ (SFJ) from Punjab were later arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the incident.

Police officials had said the slogans were written at the behest of Sikh activist and Khalistani sympathiser Gurupatwant Singh Pannu.
