Ranchi: On Tuesday, At four locations in Ranchi conducted raids by the probe agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an alleged land grabbing linked to a money laundering case in Ranchi.
The places being searched include premises linked to JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) district president Antu Tirkey. Earlier, on Tuesday, The raids were carried out based on information provided by Mohammed Saddam Hussain, who was arrested.
The ED arrested Saddam in the alleged land grab case and took him on four-day remand. Saddam is considered an associate of former chief minister Hemant Soren.
He was already in judicial custody in a separate case of forgery of documents and alleged involvement in the sale and purchase of army and other lands. The ED suspects that Saddam played a key role in the grabbing of 8.86 acres of land, possibly involving Soren.
