West Bengal: On Tuesday, The Enforcement Directorate in connection with the teachers’ recruitment scam summoned West Bengal minister Chandranath Sinha . On March 22, West Bengal minister Sinha, whose house was raided in Birbhum district.
The ED has been asked to appear before the investigating agency on March 27 in connection with this investigation. After the raid, Several property-related documents, a mobile phone and over Rs 40 lakh in cash seized by Enforcement Directorate officials.
An Enforcement Directorate official says to media, the minister of state could not explain why such a huge amount of cash was kept at his residence. he said, “We have seized some property-related documents for our investigation. A mobile phone and over Rs 40 lakh in cash were seized.”
He added,”We have also asked the minister some questions.”The central agency raided Sinha’s residence when he was at his ancestral home in Murarai, around 90 km from Bolpur.
