India vs Ireland 1st T20I : IND beat IRE by 2 runs via DLS

The Indian team is ahead 1-0 in the three-match series. The remaining two matches of the series will be played on August 20 and August 23 at this ground.

India vs Ireland 1st T20: India has hoisted its glory in the very first match of the T20 series against Ireland. Team India won the toss and bowled first. Captain Jasprit Bumrah made a great comeback. He took 2 wickets in his very first over. At the same time, debutant famous Krishna also made his debut memorable by taking 2 wickets. Batting first, Ireland had set a target of 140 runs in front of India. Rain intervened in this match and according to DLS rule, Team India has won this match by 2 runs.

Batting first after losing the toss, Ireland scored 139 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Indian batsmen had scored 47 runs for two wickets in 6.5 overs when the match had to be stopped due to heavy rain. By this time India was two runs ahead according to the DLS method. Later, seeing that the rain did not stop, the umpires and the match referee together decided to stop the match. With this victory, India has got a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series.

Let us tell you that Ireland’s Barry McCarthy scored 51 and Curtis Campher scored 39 runs to take his team to a score of 139/7.

Bumrah wreaked havoc as soon as he arrived

Bumrah, who has been out of action since September 2022 due to injury, returned to international cricket with this match. He was also made the captain for this series. In his very first match, Bumrah wanted to test his preparation by winning the toss and his decision proved to be correct. Bumrah himself decided to get the first over done. He hit a four on his very first ball, but on the very next ball, Bumrah made his comeback with a bang by bowling Andy Balbirnie. In the same over, Bumrah (2/24) also took the wicket of Lorcan Tucker.

The second T20I match will be held on 20 August

The second T20 match between India and Ireland will be played on August 20 in Dublin i.e. on this ground. With the victory in this match, the captaincy of Jasprit Bumrah has started well.
