Rajasthan Government Renames ‘Indira Rasoi Yojana’ and Enhances Benefits

Jaipur, Rajasthan: In a significant move, the Rajasthan government, under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s leadership, has renamed the ‘Indira Rasoi Yojana’ to ‘Shree Annapurna Rasoi Yojana’. The scheme, initially introduced by the previous Congress-led government, aimed to provide subsidized meals to the underprivileged.

Enhanced Benefits and Rebranding

The state’s Local Self Government Department issued an order detailing the modifications to the scheme. Under the revamped ‘Shree Annapurna Rasoi Yojana’, the weight per plate has been elevated to 600 grams. Moreover, the government grant per plate has seen an increment from ₹ 17 to ₹ 22. Despite these changes, beneficiaries will continue to contribute ₹ 8 per plate for their meals.

The initiative, originally launched in August 2020 with the slogan ‘no one should sleep hungry’, seeks to alleviate food insecurity among the impoverished population of Rajasthan. Additionally, directives have been issued to update the name across various platforms, including hoardings and online portals, reflecting the scheme’s new identity and enhanced benefits.

Name Change Implementation

The official order also mandates the implementation of the name change on all hoardings and online portals associated with the scheme. The decision to rename and enhance the “Shree Annapurna Rasoi Yojana” reflects the current administration’s approach to social welfare programs and their commitment to providing essential services to the citizens of Rajasthan.
