Rajnath Singh to File Nomination from Lucknow

As the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections unfold, all eyes are on Lucknow where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to officially enter the race today, April 29. This is a big deal as Singh, a seasoned politician, aims for a third term as the Member of Parliament from Lucknow.

Lucknow is a key battleground, set to vote along with 13 other places on May 20, making this filing significant in the fifth phase of the seven-phase election process. Singh will be joined by big names like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, and BJP Uttar Pradesh president Bhupendra Chaudhary.

Singh’s journey to file his nomination starts from the UP BJP office, then goes through a lively roadshow ending at the collectorate. He’ll be riding in a decorated vehicle, showing the strong support he’s got.

Before the event, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has invited representatives from different groups to make this a memorable occasion. Everyone, from social groups to businesses and public representatives, is excited to be part of it.

Lucknow is an important Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, with five Assembly segments. The main players are BJP, Congress, and Samajwadi Party.

Looking back at his past wins, Singh’s popularity in Lucknow is clear. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, he won with a huge margin of 347,302 votes. His win in 2014 also showed he has strong support from voters.

As the election story unfolds, Lucknow becomes the center stage where Rajnath Singh’s nomination is not just a political event, but a sign of the country’s democratic process.
