Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, has made allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming their involvement in the Delhi liquor policy scam. Singh, who was recently released from Delhi’s Tihar Jail after being granted bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi excise policy case, addressed a press conference in Delhi to voice his accusations.
Singh stated, “I’m here today to reveal how they plotted to arrest Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal… I’ll also say that BJP is behind the liquor scam. Big BJP leaders are connected to it.”
The case is about accusations of corruption and money misuse in making and carrying out Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22, which got canceled later. It started with a report given by Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena in July 2022, showing problems in how the policy was made. The report said AAP leader Manish Sisodia, acting as Excise Minister, took “random and one-sided decisions,” causing “money losses to the government” worth more than Rs 580 crore.
