Snooping case: BJP workers stage protest, climb police barricades demanding Sisodia’s resignation

New Delhi: The leaders of the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have demanded the resignation of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the snooping case. BJP leaders protest outside the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters in Delhi over their demand. According to information, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, MPs Parvesh Verma, Manoj Tiwari, former Union Minister Vijay Goel along with BJP workers are standing in front of AAP headquarters amid heavy security.

Heavy police force has been deployed to prevent BJP workers from reaching the AAP headquarters. Security has also been tightened on DDU Marg, where the office is located, with two lines of barricades. The BJP protesters are adamant that they will march and try to reach the AAP headquarters.

BJP leaders today staged a protest after the Center cleared the way for registration of a fresh case against Sisodia by giving prosecution sanction to the CBI. Let us tell you that on Wednesday, the Union Home Ministry informed the office of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi that it has sanctioned the prosecution of Sisodia under Section 17 (power of the police to investigate a public servant) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party has termed the allegations of espionage against Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia as completely fake. The CBI had said that during its preliminary probe, it found that the Feedback Unit (FBU), set up by the Delhi government to probe corruption, allegedly collected political intelligence. The agency had recommended that an FIR be registered against Sisodia.
