‘Sorry daughter’: Kerala Police post public apology after 5-year-old raped, killed

New Delhi: Kerala Police after the incident of a 5-year-old girl in Ernakulam district of Kerala Sorry is posted. In an apology posted on Twitter, Kerala Police has apologized to the girl who was a victim of heinous crime.

After the information of the disappearance of the child, the body of the girl thrown in a bore in a bore behind a local market in the nearby Aluva after a searched overnight on Friday night. This girl was missing on Friday and the accused man was arrested later.

The suspect who kidnapped the child has been arrested. Citing the post-mortem report of the girl, a police officer said that the 5-year-old girl was raped and later strangled to death.

This girl was the daughter of a couple from Bihar, who went missing on Friday evening. The accused of rape and murder was arrested a day later. On the basis of CCTV footage, the police arrested the accused laborer from Bihar.

She was living in a room on the first floor of the same building where the child’s family lived. Initially, the police found it difficult to interrogate the accused and gather information as he was in an inebriated state. But on Saturday he accepted his crime.

Police told the media that they received a complaint about the missing girl at 7.10 pm and registered an FIR before 8 pm on Friday night. The police team checked the CCTV footage and found that the child was with the labourer. He was caught only at 9.30 pm. He was in an inebriated condition and the child was not with him.

The main opposition Congress in the state launched a scathing attack on the police and alleged lapses on their part in locating the girl. While the police said that the accused was caught within an hour of the police getting the information about the crime.

Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly VD Satheesan said that ‘the girl was inside Aluva city and could not be found on time’. Satheesan said that ‘the situation is such that even children are not safe these days. Police claim that this crime took place due to excessive consumption of drugs and alcohol.

He said that the government has failed to control the use of alcohol and drugs in the society. He appealed to the Left government to take strict action. On the other hand, KPCC chief K Sudhakaran asked the government to give proper compensation to the girl’s family.
