Gorakhpur: Once again stones have been pelted at the Vande Bharat train. On Monday night, miscreants pelted stones at Vande Bharat train number 22550 coming from Lucknow to Gorakhpur near Domingarh station.

The glass near seat number 13 and seat number 14 of executive coach E One (EC) was damaged due to stone pelting. Panic spread among the passengers after the stone pelting. There was chaos inside the coaches for some time.

On July 11 also, miscreants pelted stones on Vande Bharat train number 22549 going from Gorakhpur to Lucknow between Sohawal and Deora Kot ahead of Ayodhya Cantt. The glasses of four windows of four coaches were shattered due to stone pelting. However, within hours of the stone-pelting, the police arrested three people.

The damaged glasses were replaced at the New Washing Pit in Gorakhpur on Saturday itself. Four new mirrors were brought from Delhi. Within a week, anarchists have thrown stones at Vande Bharat for the second time. Along with scanning the CCTV footage, the Railway Police is probing every point regarding the matter.

The frequent incidents have put the railway administration on the back foot. Vande Bharat train is running daily between Gorakhpur to Lucknow from 9th July. On July 7, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat train of North Eastern Railway from platform number 1 of Gorakhpur Junction.
