Tamil Nadu: Actress Gautami Tadimalla resigns from BJP after 25 years

Chennai: BJP has suffered a major blow in Tamil Nadu. Actress and BJP leader Gautami Tadimalla has resigned from BJP. Gautami Tadimalla has given this information through a letter. Citing the lack of support from the party, he said that many people in the party are actively helping and supporting the person who has betrayed them. Her departure has fueled discussions about the political landscape in Tamil Nadu.

Gautami Tadimalla said in the letter, “Today I find myself at an unimaginable crisis in my life and find that not only do I have no support from the party and leaders, but it has also come to my knowledge that many of them are actively working for that person. That help and support. .who cheated my faith and cheated my life savings.”

Gautami also recalled her involvement with the BJP during the 2021 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The party had initially entrusted her with the responsibility of Rajapalayam constituency development and had promised her a seat. She said she has decided to resign from the party with a “heavy heart and disillusionment” and tagged BJP national president J P Nadda and the saffron party’s TN chief K Annamalai among others in her social media post.

However, she lamented that the promised seat was withdrawn at the last minute, leaving her disheartened. The actress asserted that despite these incidents, she remained loyal to the party. However, she expressed her deep disappointment in what she described as a “complete lack of support.” Gautami further alleged that several senior party leaders had been aiding C. Alagappan in evading justice and absconding for the past 40 days, even after the filing of FIRs. Gautami’s resignation from the BJP and her serious accusations have raised questions about the internal dynamics of the party and its relationship with its members.

Additionally, her revelations have prompted discussions about the role of celebrities in politics and the challenges they face when navigating the complex landscape of Tamil Nadu politics. In the statement, Tedimalla stated that she has lodged complaints with the police about the cheating and said she has hope in Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and the judicial system to ensure her justice.

As Gautami embarks on this new chapter outside of the BJP, the implications for both the party and the political scene in Tamil Nadu remain to be seen. Her allegations against C. Alagappan have underscored the significance of financial integrity and accountability in the political arena, and her resignation serves as a reminder of the unpredictable and dynamic nature of politics.

The actor further said she was entrusted with the development of the Rajapalayam constituency during the 2021 polls and assured she would be fielded from there, after which she dedicated herself to strengthening the party at the grassroots level. Gautami Tadimalla alleged in the letter that she knows why some people are supporting her person, who has broken her trust and betrayed her. Gautami Tadimalla has appealed to the Chief Minister and police officials for justice in this matter. Tadimalla said that an FIR has been registered, but I still hope that the Chief Minister and police officers will give me justice. So today I am resigning from my post in BJP.
