Telangana: An official said that a man allegedly killed his 23-year-old girlfriend with an axe as she started avoiding him after her family planned for her arranged marriage. The man was identified as Srikanth in Shivaji nagar, Khanapar, Nirmal district of Telangana.
According to information, in this incident, The woman’s sister, who was with her during the attack, was also injured. The police said that the incident took place in Khanapur town in Telangana’s Nirmal district.
The woman was identified as Alekhya. She had started avoiding her boyfriend Jukanti Srikanth after her family planned for her marriage. Alekhya’s parents reportedly fixed a match for her a month ago and she was set to marry him shortly. Srikanth killed her with an axe for rejecting him and agreeing to marry someone else.
Official said that Srikanth attacked her with an axe when she was walking with her co-sister from a tailoring institute. Alekhya tragically succumbed to her injuries, while her co-sister sustained injuries as well. Srikanth is currently on the run. According to the police, a case has been registered. Search for Srikanth is going on, further investigation underway.
