Uttar Pradesh: On Monday, The Supreme Court gave a big relief to Mukhtar Ansari’s younger son Umar Ansari. Umar has got anticipatory bail from the apex court in the 2022 code of conduct violation case. Umar is accused of threatening the Mau district administration along with other accused and violating the model code of conduct during the 2022 UP assembly elections.

According to the information received, the Allahabad High Court had rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Umar Ansari on December 19 last year. In this regard, an FIR was lodged against Abbas Ansari (SBSP candidate from Mau Sadar seat), Umar Ansari and 150 unidentified people at the Kotwali police station in Mau district on March 4, 2022.

On January 25, the apex court had granted Omar protection from arrest in the case. The FIR alleged that in a public meeting at Pahadpura Maidan on March 3, 2022, Abbas Ansari, Umar Ansari and Mansoor Ahmed Ansari had called upon the Mau administration to ‘settle accounts’.
