Unique saree imprinted with Lord Ram’s image to be sent from Surat for consecration ceremony

Surat/Ayodhya: In Surat, India’s major textile hub, a unique saree adorned with images of Lord Ram and the Ayodhya temple has been prepared for the idol consecration to be held at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. This special saree is intended for the idol of Sita, known as Ma Janaki, the consort of Lord Ram.

The inaugural saree was ceremoniously presented at a local temple last Sunday, which was announced by textile industry representative Lalit Sharma. The saree with the pictures of Lord Ram and the grand Mandir imprinted on it is meant for Lord Ram’s wife Sita, also known as Ma Janaki. The first piece of the saree was offered to a temple in Surat on Sunday (January 7), Lalit Sharma, associated with the textile industry, said.

The design of the saree carries powerful symbolism, reflecting the religious and cultural heritage associated with the Ram Temple. This temple serves as a cornerstone of faith and pilgrimage for countless Hindus.

The creation and offering of the saree reflects the deep-rooted traditions and artistry of the textile community in Surat. Furthermore, the city’s participation in the consecration event highlights its contribution to this historic milestone.

Consecration ceremony
Massive preparations are on in full swing for the event, which is likely to be attended by thousands of dignitaries and people from all sections of society. Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram) in Ayodhya will begin on January 16, a week before the main ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22. Many VVIP guests from the country and abroad are expected to come to the temple town to attend the event.
