UP: Double-decker bus catches fire on Noida expressway, passengers jump off to save lives

Noida: A shocking incident happened in Noida-Greater Noida Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. On Wednesday, a moving AC double decker bus caught fire on Noida expressway which was going from Noida to Bihar with 60 passengers on board. Due to the fire there was a huge traffic jam on the Noida Greater Noida Expressway.

Noida: A shocking incident happened in Noida-Greater Noida Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. On Wednesday, a moving AC double decker bus caught fire on Noida expressway which was going from Noida to Bihar with 60 passengers on board. Due to the fire there was a huge traffic jam on the Noida Greater Noida Expressway. All passengers are safe and alternate arrangements are being made for another bus.

According to the information, the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon. A moving bus full of passengers suddenly caught fire on Noida Greater Noida Expressway. An official said that the cause of the fire is said to be short circuit. Meanwhile, fire extinguishers have doused the fire and the bus is in at a police station right now.

After receiving the information, many vehicles of the local police and fire department have reached the spot and are engaged in efforts to control the fire. The bus was an AC bus and passengers panicked the moment fire broke out and smoke started suffocating passengers. Meanwhile, a jam situation also arose on the expressway. According to the information, no casualities were reported in this fire incident.

Noida Zone-1 ACP Rajnish Verma said, “On Wednesday around 3:00 pm, information was received that a double decker bus had caught fire on Noida to Greater Noida Sector-96 Noida Expressway. On reaching the spot on this notice, the bus was on fire. All rides are out. No casualties were reported. There were about 60 passengers, bus number UP 53 GT 2907 which was going from Sector-37 to Chalkar Siwan Bihar. The fire was reported due to a short circuit in the bus. No casualties were reported. Fire service vehicles reached the spot. The fire has been extinguished.”
