UP to Host Sri Anna Mahotsav from October 27 to 29 to Encourage Millet Utilization

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the organization of “Sri Anna Mahotsav” in the state capital from October 27 to 29, with the primary objective of promoting the use of millets. This event will also feature the felicitation of farmers who have made significant contributions to millet production.

The three-day “Sri Anna Mahotsav,” a state-level workshop, will be held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan starting on October 27 and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, according to a government spokesperson.

Farmers from six divisions will actively participate in the event on the first day, followed by farmers from five divisions on the second day, and ultimately, farmers from seven divisions on the third day.

A notable feature of the event is the inclusion of fifty progressive farmers from each division, with the primary aim of generating awareness among the public and the farming community regarding millet cultivation and its consumption within the state.

The event will also include approximately 40 stalls showcasing a variety of food items prepared using millets, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore the diverse culinary options that millets offer. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of promoting millets as a nutritious and sustainable food source.
