Agra: An official said that four people were killed after a speeding car fell into a canal near Shamshabad tehsil in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday night. After this incident local people reached on the spot and informed to the police.
According to the information, two others were injured in this incident. The official said that a the six passengers in the car were returning from a wedding ceremony. They added that the injured passengers are being treated at a private hospital in Agra.
Police said that the incident happened when the speed of the car was high and driver lost control due to turning. Due to this the car fell directly into the canal. When the car fell into the canal, the surrounding people rushed to the spot and police also reached on the spot. After the incident, a rescue operation was launched. The youth trapped in the car were extricated and admitted to GR Hospital.
Giving information about this incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, City) Suraj Kumar Rai said,”On Friday evening, a speeding car fell into a canal carrying six passengers. The incident happened on Digner road under the limits of Tajganj police station in Agra city. Four persons died, while two were injured in the accident.” He added, “Those who were injured are being treated at the nearest hospital in Agra city. Legal action is being taken in this incident.”
DCP city Suraj Rai further said that the deceased identified as Manish, Vinod, Shailendra and Jitendra died in the accident. Yogesh’s condition is serious. He is undergoing treatment in ICU. At the same time, Aditya’s condition is stable. All are residents of Garhi Mohanlal in Shamsabad.
