Lucknow: On Thursday, an official said that five people killed after being trampled by a dumper in Pilibhit district. After receiving information about this incident local police reached on the spot.
The accident happened when two bikes collided near Nisra in Jehanabad police station area on Bareilly-Haridwar Highway. A dumper coming from behind crushed him, killing him on the spot. The driver fled after the accident.
According to the information,the deceased were identified as Aqib (21), Saheb (25) and Arbaaz (26). The three youths were on their way to offer Eid prayers .Owais (33) and his wife Sakra Begum (30), who were travelling on another bike, also died in the accident.
They were going to their relatives’ place to celebrate Eid. Soon after the accident, villagers gathered at the spot and started creating a ruckus.
The police immediately started investigation and sent the bodies for post-mortem. A police spokesperson said that additional forces have been deployed at the spot to maintain law and order.
