Uttar Pradesh: Several feared trapped after cold storage building collapses in Sambhal

About 30 laborers have been buried under the collapse of the cold store building in Sambhal. The accident took place in the cold storage located in Mawai village of Chandausi. CM Yogi Adityanath has directed senior officials of the district administration as well as teams of SDRF and NDRF to go to the spot and carry out the rescue operation.

Sambhal/UP: There is news of a cold storage building collapsing in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. About 20 to 30 people have been buried under the debris due to the collapse of this building. The accident took place in the cold storage of Mawai village in Chandausi. The team is reaching the spot for relief and rescue work along with Faizganj police. The district administration team has also been alerted on the spot.

At the same time, taking cognizance of the incident, CM Yogi Adityanath instructed the officers to reach immediately. Along with this, they have been asked to get better treatment. He has wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

As soon as the information was received after the accident, other people including the village reached the spot. People together started the rescue operation. Also started efforts to remove debris with the help of JCB. Other people were seen trying to find their loved ones in the debris of the family who survived the accident.

It is being told that after the collapse of the building, ammonia gas started leaking there. The fire department team somehow reached inside wearing a mask and stopped the gas leak. After this the danger was averted. At the same time, about 7 to 8 JCB machines are engaged in the work of removing the debris. The Health Department team has also reached the spot. So that those evacuated can be given immediate treatment.

The rescue operation is going on to evacuate the people buried in the chamber of the cold store. Officers including DIG Shalabh Mathur are present on the spot. DIG Shalabh Mathur told that 25 to 30 laborers are getting buried. So far 3 people have been rescued.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked the officials to carry out immediate relief and rescue work.
