Uttarakhand: On Tuesday, an official said that at least eight people were killed after their vehicle plunged into a gorge in Nainital district of Uttarakhand on Monday night. After getting information about this incident local police reached on the spot.
Official added that three were seriously injured in this incident. According to the police, the incident took place in the Betalghat area of Nainital district of Uttarakhand.
Police said that at around 10.30 pm, the driver, Rajendra Kumar (38), a resident of Baskot village, lost control of the vehicle and it fell into a 200-metre deep gorge.
After the incident, a senior police officer said that the deceased were identified as Vishram Chaudhary (50), Dheeraj (45), Anantram Chaudhary (40), Vinod Chaudhary (38), Udayram Chaudhary (55), Tilak Chaudhary (45) Gopal Basniyat (60) and Rajendra Kumar.
He added that the injured were identified as Shanti Chaudhary, Chhotu Chaudhary and Prem Bahadur. They were shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
