Veteran playback singer Vani Jairam passes away at the age of 78

New Delhi: National Award winning and playback singer Vani Jayaram is no more. She was 78 years old. Recently he received the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award. Vani Jayaram was found dead at her home at Haddos Road, Nungambakkam in Chennai.

New Delhi: National Award winner and playback singer Vani Jayaram is no more. She was 78 years old. Recently he received the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award. Vani Jayaram was found dead at her home at Haddos Road, Nungambakkam in Chennai. According to reports, injury marks have been found on his forehead. His death has mourned the music world.

Almost everyone will remember the song ‘Hum ko man ki shakti dena man vijay kare’ in the voice of Vani Jairam. He also sang many hymns of Lord Krishna, which were based on his devotion to Meera. That’s why Vani Jairam was called Meera of modern India.

Vani Jairam was born on 30 November 1945. In 1971, she stepped into the world of music and till 1990, she remained the favorite singer of the musicians. She won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer thrice. She also received state awards from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat and Odisha.

Vani Jayaram had worked with MS Ilaiyaraaja, RD Burman, KV Mahadevan, OP Nayyar and Madan Mohan. She has sung more than 10 thousand songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Tulu and Oriya. She did many shows across the country and the world. Recently, he completed 5 decades in the music world as a professional playback singer.

Thousand Lights Police officials say that veteran playback singer Vani Jayaram was found dead at her residence in Chennai. Investigation is still going on.
