Bangalore: In yet another shocking incident, a man who was caught recording a video of a woman bathing was tied to a pole and physically assaulted by locals in Karnataka’s Hubballi district on Tuesday.
Accused identified as Lad Saab, a resident of Ganesh Pete near Gokul Road, worked as a construction worker (a bar bender) in a building situated in Lohia Nagar, was restrained to an electric pole and subjected to physical assault by the mob.
He had placed his mobile phone in the bathroom window of a neighboring house and was caught while filming the video of the woman bathing. The woman, who noticed his presence, raised an alarm forcing the ‘peeping tom’ to run away. The mob caught hold of him and trashed before handing him over to the police.

Subsequently, the accused was handed over to the police at the old Hubballi station. An interrogation into the incident has been initiated by the police.
A case regarding this has been registered at Old Hubballi police station under various sections of IPC 354C (voyeurism), as well as section 66-E of the IT Act.
The police also lodged a complaint against the unknown mob under sections 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insults) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) for assaulting the accused.
